In spring 2010, Public Health - Seattle & King County was awarded two highly-competitive federal stimulus grants to address the leading causes of death in the region as part of the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention's Communities Putting Prevention to Work (CPPW). Kara Martin of Martin & Sanders Consulting is providing technical assistance for CPPW's Healthy Foods Here, a business incentive program designed to increase the availability of fresh fruits, vegetables and other healthy food in local corner stores, particularly in low-income communities.
